Set off on an unforgettable 96 mile journey on the West Highland Way and you will encounter stunning scenery taking in everything from lochs to wide open countryside. Your adventure will take you through Scottish moorlands and up steep mountains whilst meeting the local wildlife en-route.
The route can be very challenging so it is advised you carefully select the trip based on your experience and fitness levels as well as considering time taken to enjoy points of interest. After all, this is your adventure.
The West Highland Way walk would usually be completed from the South to the North with the trail becoming progressively more challenging as you reach the end point.
Due to the popularity of the trail and the limited accommodation, we only take a small deposit at the point of booking regardless of when you will be travelling. Once we can guarantee your booking (usually within 24 hours), we will charge your card for the remaining amount if travel is under 8 weeks, or, if over this time period, you will receive a confirmation email. Please do not book any travel plans until you receive this confirmation.

Our bag delivery drivers meet you on Day 1 at the start of the trail in Milngavie between 0800 and 0930 to collect the bags whisk them off to your first nights accommodation.

Itinerary
Head off from the Glasgow suburb of Milgavie and begin this incredible journey. Today offers walkers a relatively easy start with a walking along valleys passing rolling hills and lowland plains.
Your stop for the evening is Drymen - the official route skirts the outside of this village and goes onto Balhama but this is an excellent stop to stock up on supplies and prepare for the walk ahead.
Distance: 12 miles
Head off from the Glasgow suburb of Milgavie and begin this incredible journey. Today offers walkers a relatively easy start with a walking along valleys passing rolling hills and lowland plains. The view from the Conic Hill will whet your appetite.
You will follow Loch Lomond as you move from lowland to highland before reaching the small village of Balmaha.
Distance: 7 miles
Today's section continues along the shores of Loch Lomond and through ancient oak woodland.
As accommodation is very limited, your stay this evening will be either in Rowardennan or nearby with return transfers provided.
Distance: 7.5 miles
Rowardennan - Inverarnan
Today you venture out along the northern section of Loch Lomond where the terrain can be challenging particularly around Inversnaid. The terrain will demand extra care and attention but this gives you the opportunity to take in the incredible scenery.
One of the real highlights of today is the footbridge which takes walkers over an amazing waterfall at Inversnaid as it flows into Loch Lomond. As your continue your walk, you may encounter wild goats or Osprey as they fish in the north of Loch Lomond - don’t miss the chance to visit the Inversnaid RSPB reserve.

Distance: 14 miles
It’s now time to leave the picturesque Loch Lomond behind as you enter a landscape of soaring mountains and glen walking.
As you follow the River Falloch, you will see the incredible Falls of Farroach before reaching the half way point a Crainlarich. The West Highland Way path itself takes you around the outside of the village but there is a path which takes you into the village to stock up on refreshments.
The hills guide you along the River Fillan before meeting the ruins of St Fillan’s Priory and onto Tyndrum following the River Cononish.
Distance: 12.5 miles
Before leaving Tyndrum stock up on essentials as there are no more shops until you reach Kinlochleven.
Once you leave Tyndrum you will pass by Beinn Odhar with the Beinn Dorain ahead and there alongside until you reach Bridge of Orchy.
The glen flattens off and widens with a welcoming descent down to the railway station and views across Glen Orchy. Once you leave Bridge of Orchy a short climb will provide dramatic views across Black Mount and Loch Tulla.

As accommodation is very limited, your stay this evening will be either in Kingshouse or nearby with return transfers provided.
Distance: 10 miles
Upon leaving Kingshouse you will be greeted by one of Scotland’s most famous Munros, Buachaille Etive Mor.
Make your way towards Altnafeadh before tuning for Devil’s staircase. This climb, the highest point of the West Highland Way, takes you up 550 metres with views back to the Buachille and onwards to the Mamores mountain range.
Now you have conquered Devil’s Staircase, the path takes you through moorland before heading into your home for the evening in Kinlochleven.
Distance: 9 miles
The final day begins with a climb out of Kinlochleven before opening to provide views down to Loch Leven and Kinlochleven. The path takes you along the great pass between steep mountains before meeting the Nevis Forest.
As Britains highest mountain, Ben Nevis, greets you, the end is in sight. Take a small detour to view the remains of Dun Deardail, an Iron Age fort located in Glen Nevis.
Your epic adventure is nearly complete as the last section of the path begins with the descent into Fort William. Finish off with a photo opportunity with the statue of a fellow walker at Gordon Square.
