We understand situations arise and always try to be as flexible as possible with our cancellations. Our policy is as below:

If you have to cancel your booking or the place(s) of a named person(s) on your booking form, you must let us know in writing. Please contact us by email or telephone so that we can act upon your cancellation immediately, however, you must also confirm your request in writing. The following cancellation fees will apply:

Period before start date:

  • More than 60 day - 25% of the cost
  • between 41 days & 59 days - 40% of the cost
  • between 42 & 29 days - 50% of the cost
  • between 28 & 15 days - 70% of the cost
  • within 14 days - 100% of the cost

Losses incurred should be covered by any suitable travel insurance policy.

Cancellations by us:
Walking Adventures Co reserves the right to cancel any holiday booking. If you breach the terms and conditions of your booking, we may cancel your holiday and you will be subject to the same fees that would apply to you if you were to cancel your holiday (see ‘If you have to cancel’). In the unlikely event that Hadrian Wall Holidays has to cancel your holiday due to unforeseen circumstances, e.g. force majeure (natural disaster, civil unrest), you will be offered an alternative walking holiday or a full refund of all monies paid.

A condition of booking with us is that you undertake suitable travel insurance valid from the date of booking.

The level of fitness can be seen on each tour description. If in doubt, drop us a line and we can advise accordingly.

Most trips do require a decent level of fitness but of course we can add rest days to ensure you complete the adventure.

As with any walking trip, we always recommend you are well prepared with items such as a raincoat, light day bag, water bottle, waterproofs and sunscreen.

Our packages are self-guided allowing you to travel when you wish with our trips being customisable to fit with specific requirements. We provide you with the information required such as digital map and accommodation details together with 24 hour backup from our team in Newcastle upon Tyne.

We transfer your luggage daily anytime from 0900 and will arrive by 1630 at the next accommodation. We use our own drivers or a local partner depending upon the volume of transfers we are dealing with.

Our team can transfer one item per person (maximum 15kg).

 

Yes we can. Many of our accommodation partners offer packed lunch as an extra priced at £8 per person which are ordered directly with the provider on your day of arrival.

Evening meals are available in some locations with all accommodation near a local pub.

Our partners are all specialist providers for walkers and therefore have vast experience in this area. The accommodation levels are typical small, owner operated properties offering a homely feel to your stay. Accommodation types include Bed & Breakfast, Hotels, Guest Houses and Youth Hostels. We always endeavour to provide a private bathroom facilities.

Yes - the deposit is £50 per person and the balance is due 8 weeks prior to the trip. Some trips require a higher deposit, such the the Camino de Santiago, but you will be advised at the time of quote.
